I agree. I usually just wash my face with water in the morning, no face wash. Where do you get mustard seed oil?

jtm youre absolutely right. the more you fuss, the more it gets irritated. i have never understood why people wash their face in the morning (unless you have oily skin). i wash my face at night, e basta. never in the morning, it's too much for the skin. thanks for posting the NPR link. i love that station/website. by the way, put oil in your hair once a month- mustard seed oil, it's better than using conditioners with chemicals in them.

sos, there may be some truth in negative feedback loops, like e.g., shampoos and conditioners. the more conditioner i used, the more i needed to. meanwhile hair was getting DRIER, like straw and prone to breakage. now i dont use conditioner, except when going somewhere exciting, and hair is no different than with goops of conditioner! it takes a couple washes or so, but your hair gets used to it and goes back to its normal state. i'm starting to think the more you fuss over some face/skin/hair issue, the more it gets irritated. less is more?

Thats a really helpful tip because I find that in this type of weather when i moisturize my T zone is getting really oily.

A lot of people say the reason why expensive creams sometimes don't have the same results is because when people apply oil of olay or ponds they do not mind smothering it on their faces ie providing the requisite moisture to dry areas. When people use creme de la mer or la prairie they are a bit frugal and using such teeny tiny amounts is pretty much useless. Kiehls seems like a good half way house.

A friend of mine coats her face in Nivea cream once a week for 10 mins then wipes it off with cleansing pads. This is really good if you have dry skin. Nars makes an amazing hydrating skin mask too.

Jtm, I tried to do a little recon for you RE the Nutrissime. It seems to still be listed on the L'oreal site but is "out of stock" and is also not available @ cvs, walgreens, target, or drugstore.com. You may be right, I'm afraid it's being discontinued, maybe you can email the contact on the website?

Also, as Sannia mentioned below, Aveeno makes fanatastic products. I generally have reactions to lotions with spf but my skin can tolerate Aveeno really well. They have both lotions and creams. My sister who has dry sensitive skin also loves them - I send her bottles of Aveeno overseas on a regular basis.

Sannia, I also swear by Aveeno. Both my sister and I use it and love it - and we have very different skin types. I'm about to post a mask that I love for calming the skin especially during the changing seasons, it should help! :)
